Richard joined the FPA in 2021, having previously held the position of UK Technical Manager for a major construction product manufacturer where he was involved in insurance, quality management, product approvals, and standards compliance.
He is responsible for our fire testing laboratory based in Blockley which is UKAS accredited (no. 10536) to test to a range of standards including BS 8458 for residential and domestic watermist systems, BS 8414 for cladding, and a range of fire resistance test standards for building products and systems, windows and fire doors, and fire stops and joints. We also conduct material analysis testing, sprinkler head and pipework testing, and bespoke research and testing at our laboratory.
Richard holds an iMechE Accredited Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
