Our new fire risk assessment qualification is now available to book as an online course. Delivered via Zoom, you will still be able to speak directly with our expert trainers and interact with fellow delegates. 

For fire risk assessors who want to demonstrate their competence at a higher level. The qualfication requires the completion of five units, 2 of which are taught input in Foundation and Advanced principles and concepts for carrying out fire risk assessments in all buildings (except high rise or complex) as defined by the UK Government's Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, The Fire (Scotland) Act 2005, The Fire and Rescue Services (Northern Ireland) Order 2006 and the Fire Safety Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2010. 3 units are completed through carrying out a range of fire risk assessments, writing reports and providing additional evidence regarding decision making, application of policies and guidance and awareness of your own knowledge boundaries.

Qualification Structure

Those who have not completed the Level 3 Certificate will be required to complete Unit 1, 2 and 3, 5 and 6. Please contact us directly if you have already completed Level 3.

Qualification Structure

Those who have not completed the Level 3 Certificate will be required to complete Unit 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6.

Unit 5: Advanced priniciples and concepts for fire risk assessment online

This four day taught module is delivered virtually via live Zoom sessions. It provides the learner with an understanding of the advanced principles and concepts that underpin the practice of fire risk assessment in respect of:

  • Building designation and risk profiling
  • Fire and smoke dynamics
  • Fire suppression and fire-fighting

This unit has been awarded 22.5 Institution of Fire Engineering (IFE) CPD hours.

Unit 6: Undertake and report on fire risk assessment for all buildings (except complex buildings)

This unit is evidenced by a portfolio of work and undertaken in your own time. The aim of this unit is to:

  • Gather and evaluate the evidence necessary to support a fire risk assessment
  • Determine the hazards and risks that exist
  • Evaluate ways to remove or reduce the risk
  • Report signigicant finding and propose an action plan

This course is suitable for employees and consultants who intend to carry out fire risk assessments.

You will be required to complete a portfolio of evidence consisting of self-study, in-class assessment, and practical examples of work. You will be required to complete a minimum of three fire risk assessments and provide the specified additional evidence to acheive this qualification. The total qualification time for this certificate (Units 1, 2, 3, 5, 6) is 470 hours in total.
