At the Fire Protection Association, we offer testing on residential and domestic watermist systems to BS 8458 : 2015. Watermist systems are highly effective but must be designed with the exact environment in mind. As the design of each system is often almost entirely unique, each system should be tested prior to installation.
We are passionate about improving fire safety standards across the built environment and we are proud to be leading the way as one of the first UKAS accredited fire testing facilities in the UK to offer this important British Standard test.
This test provides residential and domestic system designers and installers the assurance their system has been tested to the highest standard and will perform as intended should a fire occur when installed under the test conditions.
We work with residential watermist system designers and installers to provide a testing regime which works for them. Our independent testing facility provides an ideal environment in which to research and develop residential systems.
Why test your residential and domestic watermist system?
Your system must be third party tested to be considered credible. Testing conducted by a UKAS accredited laboratory provides evidence of the effectiveness of your system, via an industry and insurer approved method. If you are looking to build trust with your customers and show them they are investing in a reliable system, third party testing can help achieve this.
The benefits of using the FPA include:
- we are third party accredited by UKAS to conduct BS 8458 testing
- experienced laboratory staff
- test all room sizes under our variable height ceiling
- the FPA is recommended by insurers for watermist system testing
Our testing laboratory also has the capability to undertake watermist nozzle testing for industrial, commercial, domestic, and residential systems.
