The Joint Code of Practice for Fire Prevention on Construction Sites was first published in 1992 with the objective of preventing fires on construction sites. Now in its 10th edition, the code has been revised to ensure it continues to address not only long-standing risks such as hot work, but also reflects changes in standards, practice and the more prevalent use of modern materials and construction methods.

Insurers’ experience shows that the occurrence of water damage is one of the most prevalent causes of claims on construction sites. Produced with the Construction Insurance Risk Engineers Group (CIREG) and endorsed by the London Engineering Group (LEG) and the Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering (CIPHE), this Joint Code of Practice aims to help reduce losses associated with escape of water (EoW) events and subsequent project delays during both the pre-construction and construction phases.

LPC Technical Bulletin TB203 considers insurer requirements for servicing and maintaining automatic sprinkler systems. Together with the ‘Sprinkler System Service and Maintenance: Guidance, Records and Checklists’ document, it provides best practice for sprinkler system maintenance to ensure the system will perform as intended when called to do so.

This document of guidance templates, forms and checklists is intended to supplement the LPC Rules for Automatic Sprinkler Installations 2015, incorporating BS EN 12845 and, in particular, LPC Technical Bulletin TB203: Care and Maintenance of Automatic Sprinkler Systems, to give additional information for both the sprinkler system owner/user and the specialist sprinkler maintenance company.
This document provides guidance on the minimum requirements for the service and maintenance of automatic sprinkler systems. It is aimed at anyone involved with automatic sprinkler systems and provides additional material in the form of legislation, best practice, and free downloadable checklists.

Security guarding in the UK is a critical aspect of maintaining security of assets and public protection for those that supply, buy, and rely on private security. Across various sectors, including commercial, residential, industrial, and public places, security officers play a vital role in deterring crime, preventing unauthorised access, and responding to emergency situations. This RISCAuthority Security Bulletin was revised in 2024 to update the 2018 version and provides guidance on types of security guarding, the legislation covering the private security industry, and the security guarding landscape.
