This interactive e-learning course provides an online introduction to fire door inspections, with quizzes to test your learning as you go along. The course content explains the importance of maintaining fire doors for life and property safety, and to comply with the law. You will learn why and how to undertake basic routine visual inspections of fire doors, and gain valuable knowledge regarding their maintenance and correct use.

This e-course will assist those required to identify hazards and risks regarding building safety and anyone who contributes to the fire safety risk assessment or fire safety maintenance of premises. (Please note that this e-course is not a substitute for a specialist fire door inspection or when an intrusive fire door inspection is required.)

Learning objectives:
Following this course you will understand:

  • why fire doors are needed and where they are likely to be used
  • the properties and types of fire doors and their ratings
  • the components of a fire door and the functions of these features
  • how to carry out routine visual fire door inspections
  • what to report if fire doors are damaged or not working correctly.

Content:
The course is split into 4 sections:

  • What is a fire door?
  • Compartmentation
  • Fire door components
  • Basic inspections.

Completion time: approximately 40 minutes

In support of bitesize and 24/7 accessible learning, the course content can be paused and returned to as many times as needed throughout a 30-day access period, giving you the flexibility to learn at your own convenience and pace.

Certification: Successful completion of this e-course will result in a digital certificate demonstrating your commitment to safe working practices and continual professional development.

Cost:

  • 1-50 users (per user): £26 + VAT
  • Pricing for more than 50 users is available on request
