Digital Communications Assistant

This is an excellent opportunity for a digital communication specialist to work within a market that is currently experiencing heightened focus and to help to grow the Fire Protection Association’s (FPA) profile as an authority on all fire safety related issues and legislation.

The FPA is a not- for-profit organisation working to identify and draw attention to the risks from fire and how these can be kept to a minimum. Due to the FPA’s trusted and independent status it has attained an unrivalled reputation for quality of work and expertise in all aspects of fire including research, consultancy, training, membership, risk surveying and auditing.  The FPA actively campaigns and lobbies for improved fire safety within industry and government and is seen as a go-to authority for expert, impartial advice.

We are now looking for a new team member to join our digital services as Digital Communications Assistant. Working closely with our Digital Specialist and marketing team you will be developing your skills on our digital platforms including CRM, customer tools, analytics, email, web, twitter and LinkedIn. 

Key accountabilities:

Working with the digital specialist, responsibilities include: 

Email marketing - design and populate content, schedule and launch campaigns. These could be:

  • Newsletters
  • Solus emails
  • Event invitations
  • Questionnaires and surveys

Support the design of assets - including email banners, digital adverts, MPUs, video content and design collateral to support content marketing initiatives.

Website updates – FPA and RISCAuthority sites

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) – consistently review and improve SEO across the FPA website and RISCAuthority where appropriate. Research and make recommendations for keywords.

Data management – ensure marketing data is kept up to date and is segmented effectively for marketing campaigns.

Drive website traffic – utilise digital channels to drive traffic to the website. Search for new ways to increase website traffic and feedback key metrics.

Pay Per Click – manage Google AdWords account for the FPA, ensuring campaigns are kept within budget. Manage sponsored posts for social media and report ROI where possible.

To be considered you will either currently be in a digital role or be a recent graduate with a relevant digital qualification. You must have excellent technical skills, a can-do attitude, be a self-starter and a strong team player.

Starting salary: £19,000 - £21,000 depending on experience
