FPA EVENTS

Introducing new collaborative guidance on risk reduction from green and living walls

LOCATION: Online

DATE: 26 June 2024 10:30

DURATION: 1 hour

Speaker

Professor Jim Glockling, Consultant and Visiting Professor at UCLan

Overview

Green or living walls are becoming a familiar feature of the built environment and are often incorporated as components of newer and more sustainable construction projects. They provide a visible statement of green intent and benefit city biodiversity, air purity, thermal environment, noise abatement, and no doubt mental health.

In this webinar, Professor Jim Glockling will consider the implications that the provision of living walls may have for the resilience of a building, and the continuity of a business and its services. The webinar will introduce new guidance: Control of Living Wall Fire Risks which is due to be published this spring, having been collaboratively produced by the living wall industry and insurers with the aim of ensuring the benefits are recognised without compromising building safety and resilience.

CPD

Delegates who attend for the duration can claim up to 1 CPD hour towards the IFE and CII/Personal Finance Society member CPD schemes.
