The CFPA (Confederation of Fire Protection Associations) Europe Diploma in Fire Prevention was developed to bridge the gap between completing a short fire risk assessment training course and a full-time degree.

This prestigious course is recognised Europe-wide throughout the 26-member countries of the CFPA. If you are looking to further your career in fire risk assessment, this is the course for you.

It is ideal if you are looking to separate yourself from the crowd as a fire risk assessor and/or hold responsibility for improving fire policy and strategy within the workplace. The Technical Cycle must be completed before the Management Cycle. This course is only available with the Fire Protection Association, the only UK member of CFPA Europe.

Progression

The FPA cap course class sizes to achieve high pass rates. From January to December 2022, the pass rate for this course was 86%.

Before applying you will need to decide whether you would like to enrol for the Technical Cycle alone or jointly with the Management Cycle. Apply for both CFPA courses together to receive a £275 discount.

Programme

Stage 1 – Fire Risk Assessment Fundamental Principles

A 5-day tutor-led training course providing delegates with a thorough introduction to the key principles of fire prevention and protection. You will cover relevant legislation, principles and methodologies of fire safety risk assessment and practical exercises before undertaking a fire risk assessment which will be marked by the trainer. Once students have successfully passed the assessment they will be able to progress to stage two.

Stage 2 – Study units

You will complete 7 independent study units. Each unit will require approximately 15-20 hours of study and will cover areas such as fire detection, extinguishment, protection of buildings and fire risk management.

Stage 3 – Examination

The Technical Cycle is completed by a 3-hour, closed book, written examination. Your revision will be from content you have learnt from the previous two stages.
