This event is intended to provide fire safety management guidance for premises with staff that provide 24 hour care for residents.
Life safety responsibility for vulnerable individuals require staff to be aware of the risks posed from fire and what action to take in such an event to prevent loss of life.
Additional vulnerabilities created by issues with mobility, physical and mental capabilities affect residents abilities to react independently creating challenges for evacuation.
Care homes premises pose further risks through commercial kitchens, laundry rooms, individual residents living areas, high quantity of flammable materials such as gasses and therapeutic oils being stored onsite and ignition possibilities when residents are using smoking facilities.
Fires can start accidentally or deliberately and the consequences of fires within the care home setting can not only be catastrophic to the business but fatal to life safety.
In addition to defining the regulatory life safety aspects which underpins all fire safety management of care homes, the seminar will deal with additional fire safety precautions that delegates may wish to implement to protect their business. This includes the provision of property and business continuity protection in the event of a fire occurring.
