Hot work safety training is essential to help prevent fires caused during construction or maintenance work. These fires are often responsible for thousands of pounds of damage in property and business loss.

“The Fire Protection Association (FPA) has introduced a Hot Work Passport scheme to enhance the level of competence of those involved in work with the potential to produce ignition sources. The Passport Scheme was developed in response to calls from industry for a national benchmark of fire safety knowledge. Over 2,850 Hot Work Passports have been issued to date... Learning outcomes

  • Knowledge and understanding of the importance of fire prevention and your own responsibility when performing dangerous work
  • Knowledge and understanding of systematic working and fire prevention methods underpinned by the relevant legislation and regulations.

  • Fire Protection Association Hot Work Passport valid for 5 years
  • CFPA Europe Certificate in Hot Works
  • 4.5 Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) CPD hours

This hot work permit online tutor-led course would suit those working on construction, refurbish projects and building alterations. Processes may include gas/electric welding and cutting, blowlamps/torches, hot air ‘guns’, bitumen/tar boilers, angle grinders and grinding wheels, brazing and soldering.

This hot work training requirements course is designed for those supervisors and operatives who carry out risk assessments in order to complete hot work permits. Job roles may include:
