Following the release of BS 8674:2025 setting out the framework for the assessment of fire risk assessor competency, the FPA launched a full suite of Fire Risk Assessment qualifications accredited by FireQual that directly align with the competency levels set out in the new standard:
- Level 3 Certificate in Foundation Fire Risk Assessment
- Level 4 Certificate in Intermediate Fire Risk Assessment
- Level 5 Certificate in Advanced Fire Risk Assessment
This bridging course is designed specifically for learners who have previously completed the NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety (through any training provider).
It delivers the additional knowledge required to achieve the FireQual Level 3 Certificate in Foundation Fire Risk Assessment, aligned with the Foundation core competency level outlined in BS 8674.
With the UK Government confirming that mandatory competence requirements for fire risk assessors will be introduced, and independently verified by UKAS-accredited certification bodies, this qualification supports learners who hold a NEBOSH fire safety certificate in progressing to a formal qualification aligned to BS 8674.
Learners also receive six months’ limited access to the FPA Members’ Area which contains valuable fire safety resources including the document and webinar library, mini guides, advice and guidance articles, and the online Fire & Risk Management Journal.
