The CFPA (Confederation of Fire Protection Associations) Europe Diploma in Fire Prevention was developed to bridge the gap between completing a short fire risk assessment training course and a full time degree. It is ideal if you are looking to separate yourself from the crowd as a fire risk assessor and/or hold responsibility for improving fire policy and strategy within the workplace.

The Technical Cycle is the first of two in order to achieve the full qualification and is completed in three stages. This qualification is only available with the Fire Protection Association, the only UK member of CFPA Europe.

Stage one - Certificate in Fire Risk Assessment

A five day training course providing delegates with a thorough introduction to the key principles of fire prevention and protection. You will cover relevant legislation, principles and methodologies of fire risk assessment and practical exercises before undertake a mock fire risk assessment which will be marked by the trainer. Once students have successfully passed the assessment they will be able to progress to stage two.

Stage two - study units 

You will complete eight independent study units. Each unit will require approximately 15 hours of study and will cover areas such as fire detection, extinguishment, protection of buildings and fire safety management. Further information on the units can be found in our information guide.

Stage three - Examination

The Technical Cycle is completed by a three hour, closed book, written examination. Your revision will be from content you have learnt from the previous two stages.
