This 4-day portable fire extinguisher maintenance training course will provide you with BAFE approved basic fire extinguisher training knowledge. It is a legal requirement that most fire extinguishers are serviced correctly and regularly by a competent technician to remain effective in the event of a fire. Our fire extinguisher maintenance course offers an efficient and cost-effective solution for organisations which operate on one or more sites to undertake their own servicing and maintenance.

Learning outcomes

  • Knowledge of the correct servicing regime to be adopted for specific types of portable fire extinguisher.
  • The skills necessary to sit the BAFE examination, an integral element of the BAFE SP101 Competency of Portable Fire Extinguisher Organisations and Technicians.

Certification

  • Fire Protection Association (FPA) Certificate
  • BAFE Certificate in the Theory and Practice of Servicing Portable Fire Extinguishers
  • 19.5 Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) CPD hours

Progression

The FPA cap course class sizes to achieve high pass rates. From January to December 2022, the pass rate for this course was 90%.
