Portable Fire Extinguisher Recharging and Maintenance

DURATION: 4 days

PRICE: £840.00

COURSE CODE: C11

This 4-day portable fire extinguisher maintenance training course will provide you with BAFE approved basic fire extinguisher training knowledge. It is a legal requirement that most fire extinguishers are serviced correctly and regularly by a competent technician to remain effective in the event of a fire. Our fire extinguisher maintenance course offers an efficient and cost-effective solution for organisations which operate on one or more sites to undertake their own servicing and maintenance.

Learning outcomes

  • Knowledge of the correct servicing regime to be adopted for specific types of portable fire extinguisher.
  • The skills necessary to sit the BAFE examination, an integral element of the BAFE SP101 Competency of Portable Fire Extinguisher Organisations and Technicians.

Duration

  • 4 days (3 days training and 1 day assessment)

Certification

  • The BAFE Certificate in Portable Fire Extinguisher Maintenance valid for 3 years
  • 5 Institute of Fire Safety Managers (IFSM) CPD hours
  • CFPA Portable Fire Extinguisher Maintenance Technician

To maintain BAFE SP101 registration, this refresher training has to be completed within 3 years of passing either:

  1. the initial training course examination; or
  2. the last refresher training examination.

Note: It might not be possible to adhere precisely to a 3-year period. This is acceptable provided that the refresher training has been officially booked before the 3-year anniversary and the course has been completed within 6 months of the anniversary. Failure to follow this procedure entails completing the initial training again.

Progression

After 3 years a refresher course should be undertaken to keep knowledge up to date.
