Building a Safer Future and outcomes from the Grenfell Inquiry

Duration: 1 day(s)

Why are we still waiting for a change to our building regulations?

As the Public Inquiry and building regulations review process unfolds, it is vital that the fire industry remains strong in its message to government. In order to continue lobbying change and educating the sector, the Fire Protection Association brings together key influential leaders to continue putting pressure on government to make changes that are so desperately needed. By attending our latest seminar, you will remain ahead of the curve with the very latest updates from the public enquiry and have the chance to speak to our experts first hand to answer your questions.

At our recent Fire Sector Summit, managing director, Jonathan O’Neill OBE stated:

“The government needs to get on with it. Yesterday I heard that they aren’t planning to introduce the legislation that will see Hackitt’s recommendations become law until the middle of next year, and that the law will take about a year to get through the parliamentary process. That is four years after Grenfell – it is too long.”

The key areas the FPA believe should take priority in the review process and will be covered in this event include:

  • Competency
  • Third-party certification
  • Toxicity
  • Trigger risks
