George joined the FPA in 2023 as Facilities Manager before progressing to Operations Manager, then Deputy Head of Fire Testing Laboratory, and to his current role as Head of Fire Testing Laboratory. He previously worked within the renewable energy sector at both operator and manager level, and outside of the FPA, he is an on-call Firefighter for Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service.
George leads the FPA’s laboratory services including our Cladding, Fire Resistance, and Suppression departments, ensuring they operate to the highest technical and regulatory standards. He is also responsible for health and safety, compliance, and facilities at our laboratory site.
He holds a Level 3 Diploma in Emergency Fire and Rescue Services Operations in the Community and is currently working towards a Level 5 qualification with the Chartered Management Institute. George has also completed ACAS Management training, and the IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
