Fire Safety Trainer and Assessor

We are excited to announce an opportunity to join our Training Department as a Fire Safety Trainer and Assessor. In this role you will ensure that the delivery of fire safety qualifications and CPD courses is carried out consistently and in compliance with current legislation and educational standards. You will also support the achievement of learners through qualification pathways with fair and effective assessment and in adherence to IQA practices.

Work Location/Hours

Home Based with regular travel to venues across the UK, including overnight stays
Monday – Friday, 09:00 – 17:00

Key Responsibilities

•    Deliver training assignments nationally in accordance with curriculum outcomes and best teaching practice
•    Contribute to the creation and updating of course design and materials for qualifications and CPD courses 
•    Support learners in preparation for assessment
•    Provide assessment of learners submitted work within agreed timeframes, adhering to internal processes and policies
•    Provide clear SMART feedback to learners
•    Report on and maintain records of learners’ progress daily, when assessing/conducting IQA, adhering to internal processes and IQA requirements
•    Efficiently and effectively IQA, where required
•    Provide technical information in relation to the size and complexity of requests for bespoke assignments
•    Where necessary liaise with clients directly to deliver SLAs and ensure the content delivered is as requested/appropriate
•    Be responsible for maintaining own professional development and participate in CPD activities
•    Maintain currency in industry developments
•    Share knowledge and experience for the benefit of the organisation
•    Participate in organisation initiatives, where required
•    Ensure client and trainer interactions are carried out professionally and effectively, delivering a high-quality training provision, regardless of whether in person or online

Key Education and experience

Essential

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in fire safety
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience providing teaching or instruction
  • Experience and knowledge of some or all the current suite of fire safety courses
  • Level 3 Assessor qualification
  • Level 3 or above in Education and Training or experience of relevant CPD/Qualification delivery
  • Experienced in presenting information using relevant IT skills – e.g.: Word/Excel/PowerPoint

Desirable

Holder of, or willingness to work toward:

  • Qualification or experience of passive fire protections
  • Qualification or experience of fire door inspection
  • Qualification or experience of portable fire extinguisher maintenance
  • Level 4 IQA Qualification
