Continual Career Development

Working with the FPA, you will be supported and trusted in your role, with an abundance of opportunities for professional development and skills enhancement.

Flexible Working Policy

In support of our employees maintaining a healthy work/life balance, the FPA operates a flexible working policy.

To take advantage of this benefit please contact your line manager requesting flexible working.

Free Parking

FPA employees can make use of free unlimited parking at both Head Office in Moreton-in-Marsh and the Laboratory in Blockley.

Employees based at Head Office are issued with a parking permit which is to be displayed at all times when parking at the Fire Service College.

Staff Social Events

We hold company-wide social events throughout the year to give you the opportunity to celebrate your hard work and connect with colleagues from across the business.

We also have a Fundraising Committee who arrange regular events to raise money for charity, including cake and coffee mornings, quizzes, and fancy dress to name a few!

Cycle to Work Scheme

The FPA supports a cycle to work scheme. To arrange this, instant applications can be made via the Green Commute Initiative (GCI) website when you have sourced your bicycle from one of the GCI registered bike shops.

Optional Private Medical Insurance

This covers a range of entitlements such as oral care, treatments, scans, hospitals stays, therapies, mental health support, health assessments, fast track appointments, an employee assistance programme, GP appointments 24/7 and cover towards travel.

This is a taxable benefit and is payable monthly via your payslip. The FPA will cover your excess payment (up to £500) if you need to make a claim.

Help@hand App

FPA employees can download the health and wellbeing services support app Help@hand. You will receive an email link to log in to this app which is available from day one of employment.

Covered by the FPA’s Unum Group Income Protection Policy, you and your eligible family members are able to access a whole range of health and wellbeing services via the award-winning support app.

Free Access to Onsite Leisure Facilities

Whether it’s an early morning swim, a sauna session after work, or a weekend gym session to recharge, you’re welcome to enjoy these facilities at our Moreton-in-Marsh site. The opening times are 6.15am to 8pm from Monday to Friday, and 9am to 12pm on weekends.

Generous Pension Scheme

The FPA Pension provider is Aviva.
Employees will be auto-enrolled into our pension scheme upon completion of probation.

Auto-enrolment Contributions:

Employee 3%
Employer 6%
Total 9%

The FPA will contribute double the employee contribution up to a maximum of 10% of Pensionable Salary.

Access to Mental Health Champions

We have a team of passionate and committed internal Mental Health Champions who are trained to offer support and guidance. These individuals are available to talk through any concerns or challenges and can provide signposting to additional resources or support as needed.

Eye Care

The FPA operates a voucher scheme through Specsavers which covers the cost of an eyesight test and a contribution of up to £49.00 towards glasses if they are needed for VDU/DSE use only.

Safety Eyewear and Lens option vouchers are also available.
