Peabody leads fire safety framework for social housing sector

£9.5 million fire safety framework contract will see social housing providers accessing suppliers to provide external wall certification and fire engineering services.

The Peabody Trust is leading a tender exercise to help find suppliers who can provide external wall assessments for their own building stock as well as allowing other social housing groups to use the same framework.

The Peabody Group is responsible for 71,800 homes across London and the south east and has its roots in providing safe and affordable housing for the poor of Victorian London.

Worth up to £9.5m over four years, the contract will also include provisions for fire risk assessments and fire engineering services.

Peabody plans to award contracts to up to five suppliers and is interested in small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) bidding for the work.

Closing date for bids – 12 May 2021
