Fire Testing

Cladding Testing

The Fire Protection Association provides a market leading cladding testing facility and is one of very few organisations to offer cladding tests in the UK and Northern Ireland.

Following Dame Judith Hackitt’s Independent Review of fire safety building regulations, cladding fire testing has become of paramount importance. The UK has few facilities that conduct cladding testing – the vital evidence needed to satisfy building authorities, the fire service, and insurers of the fire performance of facades.

Our testing facility in Gloucestershire has 4 full-height test rigs for conducting UKAS accredited BS 8414 fire testing of cladding, and the RISC 501 fire test and assessment method for external cladding systems. To support the identification of cladding and insulation materials installed on and within buildings, we also conduct material analysis testing.
