Legislation Changes and Impacts

LOCATION: Online

DATE: 17 January 2024 10:30

DURATION: 1 Hour

Speaker

Howard Passey, Deputy Managing Director

Overview

With the introduction of the Fire Safety Act 2021, the Building Safety Act 2022, and the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022, the legislative landscape which insurers, Building Safety Managers, Fire Risk Assessors, Responsible Persons, and other fire safety professionals must navigate is complex.

Often introduced in a piecemeal fashion, some of the new legislation is designed to effect amendments to existing regulations and orders, whilst some implements significant changes including establishing new Regulators, new responsibilities, a new regime for building control, and introducing a tightening of rules around record keeping.

In this webinar, FPA Deputy Managing Director, Howard Passey will cover the extensive legislative changes implemented following the Grenfell Tower fire to address the recommendations made in the Building a Safer Future Report. He will focus on the principal changes introduced and consider, where practicable, the likely impacts.

CPD

Delegates who attend for the duration can claim up to 1 CPD hour towards the CII/Personal Finance Society member CPD scheme.
