Fire Safety Live 2025

The Fire Protection Association is delighted to be partnering with the Fire Safety Live series of events in 2025! The first event of the year will be taking place in Manchester on 22-23 January at Manchester Central. As the North's premier tradeshow exclusively for safety professionals and the key industry event of the first quarter of 2025, this is your opportunity to engage with influential decision-makers in the health, safety, and wellbeing sector.

The FPA looks forward to meeting safety professionals on stand FA30 to provide industry updates and support in achieving and maintaining the very highest standards of fire safety management. We will also be showcasing some of the FPA’s most recent developments including our e-learning training courses, updates to the LPC Sprinkler Rules, and new member benefits!

By attending the Fire Safety Live Event you can:

  • Get up-to-date with 4 theatres of free CPD accredited content

  • Network with the entire community from fire safety managers, officers, and risk assessors, to fire and rescue service staff, consultants, end-users, and manufacturers.

In addition to offering visitors direct access to several of our experienced consultants at the event, we are pleased to confirm that we will also be delivering the following sessions:

Fire safety legislation, changes and impacts

Wednesday 22 January 3:10pm - 3:40pm

Chris Miles, Commercial Director, FPA

This plenary will examine the recent changes to the legislative framework and how these have updated the responsibilities and competencies defined for all of those involved in a building’s fire safety management. Specifically, this talk will touch on the Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety Act 2021, Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 and current and forthcoming changes to Approved Document B.

What can cause your sprinkler system to fail?

Thursday 23 January 2:30pm - 3:00pm

George Edwardes, Technical Director, FPA

It is now widely accepted that where systems are correctly designed, installed and maintained there is a better than 99% chance of a sprinkler system controlling or actually extinguishing a fire. This session will highlight some of the reasons that sprinkler systems can fail, emphasising the importance of routine checks and maintenance. The talk will also reveal some of the forthcoming research and changes taking place at the FPA around sprinkler systems and provide delegates with an opportunity to ask questions about their suppression systems.
