Building a Safer Future seminar – London event
Our first seminar of 2019, ‘Building a safer future – the government’s implementation plan for the Hackitt Review’, was fully subscribed and we were delighted to welcome 140 delegates to the Fire Service College for what was an informative and highly topical seminar.
As a result of increasing numbers of requests from members and customers, we have now scheduled to rerun this seminar in London on Monday 29 April. The event will take place at the Cavendish Conference Centre, a modern, well equipped and purpose built conference venue located between Oxford Circus and Regent’s Park Underground stations in central London.
The programme for this event is currently undergoing final development, and it is hoped that many of the experts who participated in our February seminar will also be available to speak in London on 29 April.
Tickets are now on sale priced at £245 plus VAT for non members, and £225 plus VAT for members, more information can be found here.

Upcoming sprinkler rules webinar
Back in November, the FPA published a major update to the LPC Rules for Automatic Sprinkler Installations, which featured a number of supporting technical bulletin revisions, including new guidance on flushing underground sprinkler mains. Often referred to as ‘the Bible’ for sprinkler
professionals and practitioners, the rules incorporate BS EN 12845: 2015 with supporting Technical Bulletins, which build upon the text of BS EN to provide a specification that is designed to ensure the highest reasonably practical levels of property protection, life safety and resilience to fire.
A free webinar has now been arranged for Thursday 4 April. This will begin at 11am and will discuss these latest publication changes, as well as offering an opportunity to quiz sprinkler experts on current developments, best practice and technological advancements. For more information on this webinar, please make sure that keep up to date on the website
F&RM readership survey
Thank you to all those members and readers of Fire & Risk Management who took the time to complete our readership survey, either through the post or online. I am delighted to announce that we had well in excess of 100 responses, with your feedback essential to how we will look to develop and continually improve your membership journal going forward. We will be summarising and reporting the findings from the surveys in a future issue of F&RM. In the meantime, our congratulations to Stephen Rossiter, who was selected at random from all the surveys we have received, and who has won himself an Amazon Echo!
