Keeping you informed of the latest fire industry news and developments
Fire & Risk Management is the UK’s market leading fire safety journal, published 10 times a year, and is available exclusively to FPA members in digital and print format depending on your requirements.
Each issue is designed to keep members abreast of the very latest industry developments, emerging risks, protection technologies and best practice, with features, contributions and opinions from leading fire safety experts.
Guaranteed to drive debate and discussion, FPA’s flagship publication is highly regarded in the fire industry and is a valued membership benefit. As a member you can also access our archive of previous issues on the FPA website.
Access to topical webinars to broaden your skill set and keep you up-to-date
FPA members benefit from a busy calendar of webinars which can be accessed live online or listened to at your leisure via the archive of recordings in the members’ area of our website on topics such as competency, fire doors, means of escape and sprinkler systems.
Our webinar programme covers a wide range of topics and disciplines with subject experts tackling key technical and strategic issues whilst allowing time for Q&A sessions.
Exclusive access to a unique collection of fire safety resources
At the FPA we publish the UK’s most comprehensive range of publications and training aids in the fields of fire safety, risk management and related topics. As an FPA member you have exclusive online access to the resource library where you can view this valuable content. Some publications can be downloaded whilst others are locked due to copyright restrictions.
The resource library includes handbooks on general fire safety, building protection, management and risk assessment, as well as tailored advice for a number of specific industry sectors including construction, heritage, warehouses and occupancy types such as schools, residential care homes and healthcare premises.
Keep track of your CPD hours using our exclusive member tool
Our CPD Record Tool is the perfect place to track and document the skills, knowledge, training, and experience you gain both formally and informally as you work towards your Continuing Professional Development.
You can keep a personal record of what you learn from our webinars, courses, and podcasts as well as any CPD you complete through other organisations.
Using the CPD Record Tool you can add new entries for individual hours, edit existing entries, and complete the overview section containing key information such as the total number of hours and the date range of activities completed. You can then save the entries to your membership account or download them as a PDF to save locally or print.
Providing you with regular email updates
Our monthly member e-newsletter keeps you informed of current industry issues and legislative changes, as well as forthcoming events and webinars, and podcast releases.
Promoting your membership of the UK’s national fire safety organisation
As an FPA member you can demonstrate your commitment to working towards the protection of people, property, business and the environment by featuring the FPA member logo on your stationery, marketing literature and website.
The member logo is updated at the start of each calendar year and is available in a variety of digital and print formats in the members’ area of the website. As a member, you will need to agree to our terms and conditions of use before downloading the logo.
Whilst the member logo is never meant to imply your products or services are endorsed by the FPA, it does help to show that you have a professional interest in fire safety, and are able to access a wealth of advice, guidance, and technical expertise whenever the need arises.
Demonstrating your professional interest in fire safety
All FPA members receive a member certificate which provides proof of your ongoing membership of the Fire Protection Association and shows that you have a professional interest in fire safety.
Your certificate is personalised to you and provides key information such as your company name and membership renewal date.
Membership certificates can be downloaded from the members’ area of the website for you to print or save on your computer.
Enjoy savings on training courses and many FPA products and services
Members can save 10% on all FPA training courses and enjoy discounts on many products and services, such as seminars, publications, fire risk assessment services and fire safety signs.
FPA’s Training department offers an extensive range of open and bespoke training courses, including fire risk assessments, fire safety management, passive fire protection, sprinkler systems and fire extinguishers.
Our Fire Advisory Services department offers professional fire risk assessments, fire safety audits, fire investigations and fire safety consulting.
Claiming your member discount is simple – all you need to do is quote your membership number when making an enquiry. It will be applied automatically at the checkout when purchasing anything from our online shop.
Moving the debate on fire safety forwards
Our monthly podcast, Assembly Point, launched in 2021 to bring you a collective space in which to explore and get information on the most pressing issues in fire safety.
Join us as we move the debate on fire safety forwards, and identify new ways to work together to improve standards.
Featuring leading experts from across the sector and beyond, we have launched this podcast to provide yet another way to keep you in the know on all things fire safety.
Identifying risks and advising guidance
The Business and Property Protection Portal utilises “big data” and real-life statistical sources to produce a risk report for any business type and UK postcode. Its predictive technology includes an analysis of perils for fire, flood, arson and security (crime and cybercrime), and scopes average costs in the event of fire damage.
Understanding external building cladding systems
The Cladding Compliance Toolkit aims to help users understand the complex, and at times confusing, legislative fire safety requirements of external building cladding systems. The toolkit has been produced by the RISCAuthority, an annually funded research scheme supported by a significant group of UK insurers and administered by the Fire Protection Association.
Joining our membership programme offers an abundance of benefits only available from the UK’s leading fire safety organisation.
We’ve developed four membership grades, allowing businesses of all sizes to benefit from becoming a member.
